9-2013 Tuscany (Lucca and Massa), Italy

In September, my side of the family got together in Lucca. This was such a wonderful experience! Besides playing in the garden and laying out by the pool, my favorite part of this trip was the site seeing. Many of my relatives are from this region of Italy. My grandfather was born in Massa and many of my family members worked in the marble quarry. And, my great-grand-mother was born in Lucca. Such a fun family history trip!
Marble quarry, yummy food by papi Gigi!,and a beautiful coastline!

Massa top left, and the crazy frenchies/italianos!

8-2013 Colmar, Riquewihr, and Switzerland

During the Matt's holiday break we decided to meet my sister in Colmar, France. This is such a beautiful part of France.

After this visit, we headed to Switzerland where we camped out in Kandersteg for a few days visiting this part of the country. Absolutely gorgeous! By far my favorite!

Seneca and I were able to get in a quick trip to the states to visit family....a much needed visit! It had been almost two years since our last visit!

When we first moved in we had a rock garden.

After buying dirt and planting seed, we finally have grass. Yahoo! Matt mowed it today for the first time.

Easter Break

During the Easter break we decided to head up to Germany to visit with my sister and her family. On our way up we stopped in Dijon, France for lunch, before spending the night and day in Luxembourg. After visiting these two places, we then managed to get to Germany.
Dijon, France. I was very impressed with this town. Very clean and loved the many cathedrals.

Ah, yes!....la moutarde-- (dijon)--the best fabricator!

Luxembourg---very beautiful city!

More pictures of this town/country.

Dying eggs for Easter and enjoying a nice bath!

The "hunt" in very cold weather (2 degrees Celsius)
Thanks to cousin, Laja and her amazing Matzo ball soup!--She rocks!
The cousins hanging out watching a movie...so cute!

What have we been up to?

It's been a couple of weeks since I've updated our blog. This is what we've been up to...
Over the February break, we went sledding with Seni' friend at Ancelle. She absolutely LOVES playing (eating) the snow!
My "mini" me! She is so funny!

Daddy daughter date night at McDonald's.
My dad came into town for a visit. We spent a few days with mamie et papi near the coast.

LOVE the mimosa in Bormes les Mimosas!
Went to Nice for the weekend. I love the picture of the biker with three baguettes in his water pouches. Very clever!

More.... La Foux d'Allos

We couldn't get enough the first time, so we decided to head up the mountains again nearby us. This time to La Foux d'Allos with another set of buddies! They insisted this was the greatest place for children attending ski school. We took their word for it and headed up for the day.

Seneca rocked it! She loved her ski class....we were so glad! Go Seni! And....La Foux d'Allos was a beautiful moutain! Thanks buddies!
