Solebury Orchard

Not too far from us is a very cool orchard--Solebury Orchard. So today, we decided to go picking as a family. A few of our good friends met us there...Enjoy!

Mom picking berries
This was a funny moment. Matt was taking a picture of what we had picked and right at this moment Seneca wanted to be close to me...so she climbed up behind me and her head was in between my legs just above my thighs...she was only there for a split second....so, we couldn't capture how cute it was. (I have a weird look on my face...)

Four day getaway to DC and Maryland

Our family took a four day weekend to visit family and explore the DC and Maryland area. Here are some fun pics.... Early Saturday morning we headed to DC to meet up with my cousin Lisa and her husband Scott.

Seni enjoying the ride We had a great time visiting my cousin Lisa and her husband Scott. They live in downtown DC in a very cute neighborhood! We had some yummy Cuban food and hit the Eastern Market...This was awesome!! Thank you!
On our way to Maryland Saturday evening we saw the DC Mormon Temple from the freeway.

On Sunday we drove around....
The next few pictures are one of the reasons we named our Daughter "Seneca"

So neat!

On Monday before heading back to Philadelphia we thought we head to DC again and check out some museums. The first was the National Museum of the American Indian. This was a fantastic museum!
Seneca is from the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians. This band is located in Harbor Springs Michigan. We saw some information about the Anishinaabe community originating in Canada. The language her tribe speaks is Anishinaabemowin so, we know this information is closely related to her.

These pictures are from the Museum of Natural History....very cool!

While heading back to our car we passed a fountain where we cooled off!

Seni and some of her friends!

I have designated myself as the weekly planner of activities for girl friends of mine and their kids. Each week we have a parky day, library day (the library has story/music time), and then a fun excursion like picking fruit at an orchard, going to a children's museum, the dairy, etc. The reason I decided to do this was to get us out of the house at least three times a week with other moms so I could socialize and Seni could play! It's been a great experience as I've met many great ladies!...and of course, children! Anyway, here are some fun pictures of Seneca's friends at the park.

July 4th Festivities!

We had a great 4th of July! We headed downtown to participate in all in the action! They had an outdoor festival off Benjamin Franklin Ave and an Ice Cream Festival off Penn's Landing! Since the Ice Cream Festival had an enormous line, we chose to eat ice cream at a cute parlor off Market Street and 2nd. Here are some fun pics documenting our day!
